The Double Turnover (most usually referred to as a double lift) is perhaps the single most essential move in all of card magic. It is the act of turning over two playing cards whilst creating the impression that you are handling just a single card.

Phase One: A participant cuts a deck and looks at any card they cut to, then burries the card in their cards, without the mentalist touching these cards. This is a free choice. Still, the mentalist offhandedly names the thought of card. This stuns the participant and all onlookers. But the mentalist is just warming up.
Phase Two: A participant again looks at a new card and is sure that it is lost in the rest of the cards. The mentalist makes a few odd sounding suggestions to the participant, but never touches the cards. The participant looks through the cards in their hands and no longer sees their card. This is utterly impossible. Mental fogging makes the participant swear they cannot see the card that they had in mind. The mentalist removes a Joker from the cards and places it into a pocket. Snapping the participant out of their trance, the mentalist asks what card was placed into his or her pocket. The mentalist says that in fact the participant's card is what has always been in the pocket, and names the thought of card...then removes the thought of card from the pocket. NO sleight of hand required.
Phase Three: The participant looks at a new card and is sure to lose it in all the rest of the cards. Wise people wonder if this card is still in the deck now. Instead, the performer simply names the card using Mind Reading, with no guessing or pumping of any kind.

A brilliant card-up-the-sleeve routine wherein you perform the effect first with regular cards and then with JUMBO'S.
Not difficult to do - a pleasure to learn and a delight to perform. Complete with Ken de Courcy's original fully illustrated routine, (based on a concept by R. M. Jamison), and full patter presentation to perform this unusual and entertaining mystery.
The effect is the following:
The magician introduces three playing cards, for example, a Two of Hearts, a Three of Diamonds and a card which is conspicuously different to the other two, an Ace of Spades. The cards are shown on both sides; the red cards have red backs and the Ace has a blue back.
Says the performer, "Magicians are always being accused of passing things up their sleeves and, since there is an element of truth in this accusation, tonight I'll show you exactly how it works".
The performer separates the three cards, then indicates the path the Ace will travel, from the mouth of the sleeve right up to the top inside the armpit.
The Ace is returned between the other two cards and they are squared. All three are held momentarily at the opening of the sleeve, then the cards are again separated. There are only two. They are the red ones. With an obviously empty hand, the magician reaches into his jacket up by the armpit and brings out a blue backed card. When it's turned face out it's seen to be the Ace of Spades, then it's returned between the two red cards.
These actions are repeated, the Ace again travelling up the sleeve and being replaced between the other two cards.
Now in accordance with the patter three jumbo cards are brought out. Yet, not withstanding their size, the Ace of Spades travels up the sleeve as easily as before!

I first met Paul Vigil at my Las Vegas home thirteen years ago, and we soon became fast friends and magical confidants. During our first session I realized that he was a far more skillful and inventive magician than I initially had imagined him to be. Over the years we have spent many nights discussing magic and developing sleights, methods, moves, subtleties and effects. Paul is an adroit practitioner of our art, and his magic, if carefully studied, will provide you, the reader, with material that could make you a stellar performer, too.
This booklet contains a collection of four classic effects from the repertoire of a professional working magician - magic that's audience tested and carefully explained in complete detail, including plot lines and structure.
"The Multiple Selection" has been a feature effect of a great many performers, but unlike most routines (which rely on a series of rather quick, slick flourishes for the revelations) Paul's opening entry is a very magical handling that comprises eight startling effects. In addition, following the informative text, Paul explains how to cut the routine down to accommodate smaller groups of participants.
Paul's treatise on "The Endless Chain," which contains three new throws that deliver different outcomes, advances this plot to new dimensions. I believe both types of effects have situational merits, but when performing for laymen I prefer to not let them get ahead by knowing the contents of the box. There is much satisfaction in seeing the "magic moment" reflected in their faces when the box is opened and the punchline dawns on them. Every once in a while, you see an effect that is so astounding that you just can't get it out of your head. "Reshuffled" is, for us, that kind of trick. We saw it at the home of Juan Tamariz, when Pedro Morillo, his close friend, was asked to "do the thing." This "thing" was so stunning, so memorable, that we never forgot it. In fact, we pursued releasing it, and that day is here.
It's quite easy to visualize. It is, mostly, Paul Gertner's wonderful, classic, and perfect effect, "Unshuffled" (which in turn is based on a Michael S. Ewer trick). But the new ending takes this amazing trick to soaring new heights.
You display a deck with strange markings on the edges. A card is selected in the freest possible manner, and then, through a series of shuffles, the markings on the edges of the cards align to spell the word "Unshuffled." It is as if you are unshuffling the deck of cards. True to form, every card in the deck is now shown to BE IN ORDER. You really have unshuffled the deck. Then, you cause the markings on the side of the card to visually rearrange themselves to spell the name of the selection. That is the fabulous "Unshuffled" routine, and where it ended originally. In this version, you spread the deck one last time to show that now EVERY CARD IN THE DECK HAS CHANGED INTO THE SELECTION.
Some things to consider: we love this routine because carrying "Unshuffled" always necessitated carrying a deck devoted to just this trick. So, why not add some special features into the deck that will allow you to force the card in the freest possible manner, and end with an all-as-one ending? Now you can.
The faro shuffle is usually required to perform "Reshuffled," and that is how we perform it. However, a non-faro, totally self-working method is also included, created by Maestro Juan Tamariz.

Who is he?
Tom Mullica's love affair with show business began in 1953 in Waupun, Wisconsin when, as a five-year-old child, he decided to be a clown. Two years later he discovered magic and not long after combined the two. In addition to magic and clowning, he is a highly skilled ventriloquist and pantomimist. Tom is now CEO of Van Blaine Productions.
Tom enlisted in the Army at age 18 and after 3 years in Korea and Germany, moved to the magic capitol of the world, Colon, Michigan, where he built illusions and demonstrated magic for the famous Abbott's Magic Company. Tom then moved to Atlanta, Georgia where he attended bartending school and opened his own nightclub called The Tom-foolery Magic Bar Theatre. His popularity in Atlanta led to an appearance on Late Night with David Letterman, World's Greatest Magic, Penn & Teller, Viva Variety and hundreds of television appearances throughout the world. With countless hotel and casino performances in Atlantic City and Las Vegas, Tom Mullica remains one of the greatest variety acts of our time. Between 1976 and 1987,the Tom-foolery was visited by countless notables -including a longtime favorite of Tom's... Red Skelton.
Red visited the Tom-foolery in 1980 and liked the show so much he spent two hours with Tom afterwards. Tom occasionally included some suggestive material in his comedy routines at the time and Red proclaimed, "I'll tell you what Tom, if you clean up your act, you can use my material." He told Tom that his humor was too suggestive and that it shocked people into laughing. He instructed Tom to do every show as if his mother, a priest, and a nun were in the audience. Tom's approach to comedy changed that very night. One of the dominant factors in Tom's life has been the quiet, sincere friendship he developed with Red Skelton over the years that followed. Never a night went by at the Tom-foolery that Tom didn't mention Red. This friendship took on an even more significant, poignant turn for Tom when Skelton sent him W.C. fields' famous twisted pool cue. Fields used the twisted pool cue in a classic vaudeville routine with Ed Wynn eliciting laughs under the pool table. Finally, Fields "discovered" Wynn under the table and walloped him with the cue. Fields had taken a liking to Red Skelton and had given him the cue about a year before he died. Tom feels he can never achieve a higher tribute than that in Red's note which accompanied the pool cue. . ."I don't know of anyone I would rather pass it on to for safekeeping than you!"
After 11 years performing at the Tom-foolery, Tom wanted to move on. He asked Red for his advice and he suggested, "Take 10-15 minutes of your best material and perform it pantomime to music and you'll be able to work any place in the world - you'll have no language barrier." Tom took Red's advice and after six months of rehearsal moved to Paris, France where he was one of the featured acts at the world famous Crazy Horse Saloon. Tom returned to America in 1991 and continued his comedy magic career until 1996 when he began writing 'Tom Mullica as RED SKELTON

An incredible coincidence effect performed under impossible conditions. You divide a deck in two and bind each portion so that it becomes a book of cards. The spectator chooses a card from one book. Dealing through the books simultaneously the chosen card falls at the exact same position as its mate. No other cards match. Now for a miracle finale. Because now when the cards are leafed through, every single pair matches. This despite the fact that the cards are still bound together. So clever you will baffle yourself!

Energy Coins is my personal coin bending routine. It consists of two phases, and two coins: one positive and one negative. The performer 'energizes' the negative coin, and the spectator is able to feel that it's heavier. This is one-hundred percent surefire, and they will always feel what you describe. Once energized, the performer slowly picks up both coins and is able to dramatically bend the negative coin with one hand.
The video features the one-handed bend, which happens exactly as it appears. Nothing is being slid off camera or out of frame, what you see is what you get. Half-dollars are used in the video, but it can also be performed with quarters.
There is a gimmick needed, and the gimmick makes both phases possible.
