Now you can do a chair routine with almost no props. Josh shares his go to chair prediction routine, all you need to perform it is three chairs, a participant and a specially prepared prediction. Ideas are explored in depth that explain how to perform the effect with the prediction written in an envelope, held by the spectator or written on a card box. Pseudo Hypnotism by Devin Knight

This release teaches you how to combine a clever mental effect with REAL hypnosis to create an effect that can't be done with just regular hypnosis. This effect will help you stand out from the competition and increase your bookings.

Devin's bookings as a hypnotist have almost doubled since including this feat in his shows. This effect can also be used as an emergency effect when nobody goes into hypnosis. You can do this effect and it will appear to be real hypnosis.

Magicians and mentalists can use this as a pseudo hypnotic trick in their shows, as it is not necessary to have the person really hypnotized, but if the person is really hypnotized then the effect is much more amazing to the subject!

The performer shows four opaque envelopes and says they each contain a different color card. All four envelopes are given to a hypnotized person on stage that has his eyes open. The hypnotist tells the person to mix the envelopes so no one can know which colors are inside.

The performer says when he counts to three that the subject will have x-ray vision for real and will be able to see through the opaque envelopes and tell everyone which color is inside each one. The hypnotized subject will actually see colors insides the envelope while under hypnosis!

He hands the hypnotist an envelope and says what color is inside. The hypnotist writes this color on the envelope in FULL VIEW of the audience. Nothing is hidden. The hypnotized subject repeats this with two more of the envelopes with the hypnotist writing the colors in full view on the envelopes.

The subject has one envelope left in his hand and the hypnotist asked him to use his x-ray vision to name the color inside. Without touching the envelope, the hypnotist tells the subject to open the envelope and remove the card inside. Much to the amazement of both the subject and the audience, the colored card he removes is the color he just said it was, using his x-ray vision!

Each envelope is handed back to the subject with the request that he opens it and removes the card inside. IN EVERY CASE, THE CARD IS THE SAME COLOR WRITTEN ON THE ENVELOPE. The hypnotized subject, even though hypnotized will be blown away that he was 100% correct. The audience will go crazy with applause as such a thing does not appear possible. This can be done with volunteers in chairs behind you with no chance of exposure. The hypnotist asks the audience if they are convinced the person really has x-ray vision since he was 100% correct, most will nod their heads in agreement. Now the big laughs will follow. The hypnotist says he will give all the volunteers on stage x-ray vision and that everyone on stage can now see through the clothes of everyone in the audience.

Hysterical laughter will come forth from the audience, as they will wonder if the people on stage can really see through their clothes. Women will cover their breasts and others will duck down because they think the people on stage really have x-ray vision. One of the funniest bits you can do in a hypnotic show.

Break a thread into pieces and slowly, visually restore it.
You reveal a length of thread and give to the spectator to examine. You break it into multiple pieces. The pieces are shown separate, one-by-one, then rolled into a ball. Slowly, you pull the ends of the string to reveal that it has been fully, impossibly restored. The spectator can examine everything - and keep the restored thread as a souvenir.

The Gypsy Thread dates back to 1584. The plot was mentioned in The Discoverie of Witchcraft, one of the first books on magic ever published. In the past, the effect was somewhat cumbersome and required a significant amount of setup. ABERDEEN annihilates all of that.

The spectator can examine the string before and after the effect.

Untitled A method for lapping a selection after having switched it for the top card of the deck.

Flick Popper This one will hurt your nail haha. A simple yet neat way of popping a card out of the center of the deck.

Vanquish A method for vanishing single cards of the table and making them appear in the center of the deck (no pass is executed). Also covered in the First Hour

Rotatyon Change A simple yet visual way of changing a card. Good for sandwich effects.

Student Transfer A method for transfering a card from one palm to the other under the motion of checking one's watch.

Focal Kind and Focal Flick A card is lost in the deck. Really lost in the deck. The magician then takes the deck, gives the side a flick and with just that, the card is found. A second method is shown where the spectator is asked to flick the side of the deck. Both methods work every time.

A card is selected by the spectator and may be signed. Next, a corner is initialized by the magician and torn off. You pull out your iPhone and place it in the spectators hand.

Hands Down by The Other Brothers

This is, quite simply, one of the best close-up mentalism effect we have seen in the last few years. It's that good. You ask someone to write down the name of a friend. They hide the paper behind their back. You can tell them which hand the paper is hiding in, and then you divine the name of their friend.

Sometimes combining two great effects causes confusion. But sometimes the combination makes BOTH effects stronger. In this case, a center tear is combined with the "Which hand?" premise, and they work seamlessly together. The presentation guides the spectator logically from one amazing effect to the next. "Hands Down" takes less than two minutes to perform and leaves a memory that will last a lifetime.

There are multiple versions of this simple, but ingenious principle taught. In one version, you show the audience that you can keep track of every time the participant swaps hands. And another version uses the principle with playing cards, ending with a thought-of card reveal.

The effect is easy to do, explained in great detail, and does not involve any special apparatus (no magnets, rings, electronics, etc.). You can do it with objects found in any bar or venue.
