Imagine being able to create an illusion that looks like Special FX but being able to do it LIVE. A three phase routine where a card VISUALLY MORPHS into a signed playing card.

From his working repertoire Mike Liu shares his highly visual morph of a playing card into a signed playing card. Mike has performed this routine under test conditions from street performances to strolling and close-up corporate work. It has become his signature routine that not only fools lay people but has fooled many a knowledgeable magician.

No pipe-dreams - this is audience tested over many years to get maximum impact. A very visual and original card change.

This very visual morph happens up-close using a very clever gimmick that does all the work for you. During the morph the spectators see the card actually smudge and then morph into the card they signed moments before.

Each gimmick is custom made and does most of the work for you.

EFFECT: A three phase card morph routine where a card is selected from a RED back deck and signed on the face. It is then lost in the deck. The performer then shows the face card of the deck which starts to SMUDGE as he waves his hand then visibly morphs it into the signed card, which the spectator then turns over to now discover their card has a BLUE back. The card is given away as a souvenir.

Who is he?
Brought up in south-western France, Xavier Mortimer packed up his suitcase to travel the world while creating shows that blend magic, circus acts, music and comedy.

He studied at the Music and Dance Conservatory of La Rochelle, as well as the Desmond Jones Acting School in London and the Jacques Lecoq Acting School in Paris.  At the age of 15, he created his first show, a combination of magic, mime and comedy. Thereafter, he won several prizes for Magic including 1st place at the Albano International Congress in Italy and Gold Star at the L’Eau d’Olle magic festival in France.

A truly complete performer, he is the recipient of several more international prizes for Magic regarding his shows. He has achieved public recognition with his show L’Ombre Orchestre (The Shadow Orchestra) created in Avignon (France) in 2006, and subsequently performed in Paris and worldwide more than 1000 times.

Xavier Mortimer is both the creator of and performer in visual shows that he presents internationally. What’s more, he not only composes the music for his own shows, but for other shows, as well. In 2012, he created the character Sneaky for the newest Cirque du Soleil’s show, ONE, which is currently being performed in Las Vegas.

Between 2013 and 2015, while performing in Vegas, Xavier has been a guest on mainstream TV shows all around the world and he is about to release his new magic show in 2016 in LAS VEGAS.

He was also invited to perform for FISM Italy 2015.

A wallet containing a prediction is handed to a spectator. At this very precise moment there is absolutely no possibility of touching or even changing this prediction.

The spectator is asked to think of the name of any person he wants and to MENTALLY SPELL this name while counting cards from a deck one at a time on the table. Tarbell 50: Novelty Rising Cards

Causing a chosen card to mysteriously rise from the pack has fascinated magicians and captivated audiences for centuries. It's a time-tested combination of card revelation and unexpected animation.

In Lesson 27, you learned a number of great methods to make selected cards rise out of the deck on your command. Now, Dan expands upon those original concepts with more challenging constraints, diverse methods, and fascinating presentations. He's even included a brand new method, revealed here for the first time.

First, cards trapped in an envelope, isolated upon an artist's easel, still find a way to rise. And, you'll learn how to make the updated design for the easel.
